To maintain the comfort and therapeutic advantages of sheepskin and wool producs, the laundering of the skin and wool fibre is important. Pure new wool has a coating of protein over and around each fibre. On sheepskin, the protein acts as a shield or barrier round the whole fibre and is contributory to the air circulation between the fibres which provides the unique comfort and therapeutic comfort of sheepskin.

On woolen garments, it gives that unique feel of pure new wool. This Sheepskin Shampoo and Woolwash with Conditioner removes stains and contains a conditioning agent to lubricate the skin and enhance the performance of the wool fibre.

Antibacterial

Contains an antibacterial which protects against bacterial growth, eliminating cross infection and prevents odours, particularly in medical and baby fleeces. Contains Tea Tree Oil which is effective against dust mites.

Washing Instructions and Care of your Aussie Fleece Sheepskin

Hand or machine wash with a plain liquid soap product. Never use any detergent, bleach or fabric softeners.

The Australian CSIRO have developed a sheepskin shampoo and woolwash with conditioner specifically designed to maintain the comfort and therapeutic properties of sheepskin. We strongly recommend the use of this product which contains in addition, leather conditioners and Tea Tree Oil which has antibacterial properties and is a highly effective against dust mites.

Aussie Fleece Natural GOLD/LEMON or IVORY sheepskins can be machine washed at up to 60°C and cool tumble dried or left to dry naturally.

Aussie Fleece Medical GREEN sheepskins can be machine washed or industrially washed at up to 80°C (Hospital requirements for thermal disinfection) and then warm tumble dried without any loss of the natural characteristics of the wool.

The sheepskins can also be given a periodic brushing to bring up the full density of the wool fibres.
