Woolprotec® sheepskins are produced from specially cross-bred Merino sheep which provide the ideal balance of wool fibre length and high density (over 5000 to 6000 fibres per square cm). This means that our sheepskins are able to provide strong springy support coupled with the ultimate in soft feel and comfort.
The special Woolprotec® tanning process means that these sheepskins can be washed in regular washing machines and tumble dried without shrinkage, stiffening of the leather or any loss or flattening of the soft springy support of the fibres.
Woolprotec® Natural GOLD sheepskins can be machine washed at up to 60C and cool tumble dried or left to dry naturally.
Woolprotec® Medical GREEN sheepskins can be machine washed or industrially washed at up to 80C (Hospital requirements for thermal disinfection) and then warm tumble dried without any loss of the natural characteristics of the wool.
All Woolprotec® sheepskins have been clinically tested to withstand hundreds of washings
